An opportunity to become an LBP assessor
Occupational Regulation, the administrator of the licenced building practitioners scheme at MBIE, is finalising a procurement opportunity to individuals or organisations who would be interested in providing assessment services for the LBP scheme.
If you have industry level qualifications and/or experience in competency-based assessment, and you would like to apply, the instructions are below. We would be looking for assessors in all licence classes, either specialising in one licence class, or for those that have experience in multiple classes of licence. Those licence classes are:
- Brick and block laying
- Carpentry
- Design
- External plastering
- Foundations
- Roofing, and
- Site
If you think you may be interested, you can see more on the Government Electronic Tender Service by following these instructions if you are not already a registered supplier.
A Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO) has been uploaded onto GETS. This FPO is to indicate to the supply market that a procurement opportunity for LBP assessment services is forthcoming. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please subscribe to that FPO on GETS. That way, when further details are released to GETS, you will be automatically notified about it.
If it is your first time on GETS, you will need to register as a supplier. When you click on ‘Register now” (after clicking on the link below), you will be taken to a page which will require you to register your details.
To subscribe, use the link below to go to the website, then copy the code RFx ID 31404294 into the ‘Search Tenders’ box at the top right of the screen. On the new page, the Licensed building Practitioner assessment Services will be there. Clicking on this will take you to the Licensed Building Practitioner Assessment Services page, and at the bottom of that page, click on “Subscribe to this notice for full access.” You will be taken back to the RealMe Government login page for GETS.

You can use the same RealMe login that you use for access to the LBP portal or MyIR, for example, as this is a government wide login. Otherwise, you can create a new one. Then just follow the instructions provided at each step from there.
