Summary:
The Respondent was found to have been supervising building work being carried out in Canterbury from his location in Hamilton, without sufficient oversight of the work being carried out. As there were significant issues with the quality of work, the Respondent is found to have been negligent in the supervision he applied to the work. The Board considered that the Respondent’s actions may have brought the LBP scheme into disrepute, but at the lower end of the scale. The Respondent is ordered to pay a fine of $500 and to pay costs of $1,000. The Board will also further publicise their decision.
