Summary:
The Respondent holds a Site licence and so has a duty to ensure that subcontractors complete work to an appropriate standard when acting as a project manager. The Respondent failed to ensure a good end product and there were numerous issues with the work, including from a tiling subcontractor. The Board considered, given the Respondent’s role and that the subcontractors work was carried out to a poor standard, that the Respondent had been negligent or incompetent. The Respondent is ordered to pay a fine of $2,500 and costs of $2,000. The Board will also further publicise their decision.
