Summary:
The Respondent is found to have been likely to have carried out or supervised the roofing work with a number of deficiencies. The Respondent did not, however, misrepresent his competence in the Boards view. A record of work was not provided as required by section 88 of the Building Act 2004 and the Respondent failed in this obligation. The Respondent’s carpentry licence is cancelled and he may not reapply for licensing in carpentry for twelve months. The Respondent is also ordered to pay costs of $3,000.
