Summary:
The Respondent was supervising another person carrying out the work but failed to visit the site. Issues with the work were not brought to his attention by the worker and thus he did not supervise the work sufficiently to ensure that it was carried out competently. As a result the work did not comply with the building consent. The Board considered that the Respondent also failed to provide a record of work as required by the Building Act 2004. The Respondent is ordered to pay a fine of $1,500 and pay costs of $1,000.
