Summary:
Negligence upheld in respect of installing an over-spanned bearer, sequencing of building work which lead to elements being missed or not completed and failures to ensure changes to the building consent were dealt with prior to the work being carried out. Building work also found to have been contrary to the building consent issued. Design and material changes made without any consent changes being sought. Failure to provide a record of work on competition of restricted building work. Fined $2,500 down from a starting point of $3,500, fine reduced as design issues impacted the build. Costs of $2,250.
